Chateau-les-Epoisses

This was among the sights we saw on our 12 kilometer (!) walk yesterday.

There were men working on the roof there too! I would NEVER want to have to deal with the upkeep on a chateau. Fortunately, since I am not descended from French (or any other) royalty, I will probably never be faced with that dilemma.

Here are more photos from our little getaway:

Oh I love these pictures of the French countryside! It's making me jealous. I wish so much I could be there with you and Jill and those gorgeous fields of French wheat. We've had a horrible rainy month here in Massachusetts too. It's been so cold we almost turned the furnace back on, but I stubbornly threw another few blankets on the bed and felt like a stingy New Englander. I refuse to pay for another tank of oil this year. On Sunday we had a horrible freak storm which featured black clouds, torrential rain, thunder, and enormous hailstones! Then as quickly as it came it was over and the sky was clear blue. But it was so cold you could see your breath. At least we're not in Phoenix where it has already reached 104 degrees in the last week! Thanks for the blog sis. It's makes you feel not so far away.
